"Just a quickie, nothing more", "But you said you'd marry me"

Alright folks, I have returned with more ramblings, nonsense and whimsy. This blog shall be brief, so if you were planning to read it whilst waiting for your ever-so-delicate fairy cakes to bake, you might want to find other things to fill the time as well. Like maybe you could paint a picture of a cat playing a mandolin. That might be something nice to do. Anyway...

This will be fairly banal to most, but here is what I've been doing recently:

  • Writing songs with Betsy, my acoustic guitar.

  • Eating less food than I ought to, because I've spent all my moneys on plane tickets and hotels and as a result I have no money to buy fancy food. And this man doesn't do Lidl

  • Enjoying the time I get to spend with the Lady. She's everything wonderful in one gorgeous package. We went to see Youth In Revolt on Sunday, and whilst it was a very good film, I spent an awful lot of the time trying to steal glimpses of her in the half light, those big blue eyes reflecting the screen... *ahem* Erm, I mean non-cissy things! Like... erm... trucks... pull ups... football... erm... hi-fives... heavy metal... erm... ballet?

  • Being a vegan, as usual.

  • Wearing blazers. Lots of blazers. 400 blazers.

  • Listening to rap music. Yep, the guy who wrote a very long blog about folk music secretly wants to wear big baggy trousers and a puffy jacket. Not Eminem though. He's wank.

  • Wishing I lived in California. I'd blatantly be a surfer.

  • Doing an awful lot of work, despite the thankless nature of it all.

  • Rediscovering Fight Like Apes, possibly the most underrated band of our time. More on them in future.

  • Getting more than a tad excited about a certain trip to Paris...

  • Working out like never before, could probably start asking people if they've got tickets to the gun show...

  • Kind of wishing it was the fifties, because Elvis, Chuck Berry and Eddie Cochran are currently blowing my mind. Plus I could wear a bow tie, checked shirt and cardigan pretty much everyday. Not sure I'd be able to get vegan food in the fifties, but I could go to the hop and dance the twist.

That's pretty much it. I'll do another one when I've got a decent topic.
